University of Geneva is launching a free Massive Open Online Course on Children\u2019s Human Rights. The course, which has a duration of 7 weeks, is taught entirely in English.<\/p>\n
In this course the participants will explore critical issues concerning the rights of children from a multidisciplinary approach. Participants will gain insight relative to the development of this specific human rights category, as well as to the evolution of the challenges faced by children over time and society\u2019s efforts to respond. Successful international strategies and programs promoting children\u2019s rights will be highlighted, as well as the role of key actors involved in international organizations working in this field.<\/p>\n
The participantes will learn more about global strategies and initiatives that have had success in promoting children\u2019s rights. They will analyze these strategies throughout the course and study the international and regional standards on children\u2019s rights and the related international and regional judicial and quasi-judicial bodies designed to ensure their implementation.<\/p>\n
The course is taught by Dr. Roberta Ruggiero of the Center for Children\u2019s Rights Studies, Professor Philip D. Jaff\u00e9 of the same, and Dr. h.c. Jean Zermatten of the same and of the International Institute for Children\u2019s Rights, all of the University of Geneva. Participants who successfully complete the class activities and final assessment can opt in to receive a verified certificate for an additional fee.<\/p>\n
